Paso Robles Man Arrested for Alleged Stabbing and Fleeing the Scene, Police Report

Someone was stabbed in Paso Robles on Sunday morning during a fight.

A news statement from the Paso Robles Police Department says that around 2:07 a.m., officers were told about a stabbing victim who was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The investigation showed that there had been a fight in the 3300 block of Vine Street early that morning, the news statement said.

A man named Alberto Cruz Nieves, 32, from Paso Robles, was named as the suspect by police. Cruz-Nieves is said to have driven away from the scene of the killing.

Soon after, CHP officers in Kern County found Cruz Nieves in a car and arrested him without any problems, according to the statement.

Cruz-Nieves was taken to the San Luis Obispo County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, the news report said.
