One of the two people who died in an accident near Pickerington late Thanksgiving morning was known to Columbus police.
Local cops first heard about the accident at 11:23 a.m., involving two cars, near the corner of Gender Road and Abbey Trails Drive.
A Columbus police report says that Cofield Brown, 37, died when his white Honda Accord crashed into a gray Chevrolet Cruze being driven by someone who has not yet been named.
Brown was driving south on Gender Road and getting close to the Abbey Trails Drive crossing. The police couldn’t say which way the unknown car was going.
Brown was taken to Mount Carmel East Hospital by paramedics from the Columbus Division of Fire. At 11:59 a.m., he was declared dead there.
Police say the driver who they don’t know died on the spot.
The crash’s cause is still being looked into.
