ARBUTUS, Md – The Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal three-vehicle incident on Interstate 95 in Baltimore County’s Arbutus area Tuesday morning, which killed one.
According to authorities, the collision occurred around 3:30 a.m. and caused traffic delays throughout the morning Tuesday. Troopers responded to a reported three-vehicle incident on southbound I-95 at Interstate 695.
According to police, the Jeep Cherokee was traveling south when it rear-ended a dump truck. The Jeep ended up in a traffic lane, and investigators suspect the driver stepped out and was hit by a Subaru, which then collided with the dump truck.
The driver of the Jeep died on the scene and has not been recognized at this time. The dump truck driver, a truck passenger, and the Subaru driver were all transported to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.
The inquiry into the reason of the crash is still ongoing.
All I-95 southbound lanes have since reopened.
