Solon, Ohio — A mother and father of three young children were both arrested in Solon late last month after a police investigation that escalated into multiple charges involving alleged threats, intoxicated driving, and firearms in a vehicle, authorities said.
According to a report from the Solon Police Department, 32-year-old Summer R. Davis was taken into custody on Dec. 28, 2025, after officers questioned her about an alleged menacing incident at an apartment complex in Solon.
Menacing complaint leads to arrest
Police said a 28-year-old man contacted 911, claiming his ex-girlfriend, later identified as Davis, had been repeatedly calling and messaging him throughout the day. He told officers that after ignoring the messages, Davis allegedly showed up at the apartment he shared with his brother and another woman and began banging on the door.
The woman at the residence told police that Davis threatened to shoot her and requested a protection order. Davis later voluntarily went to the Solon Police Department for questioning, bringing her three children — ages 4, 5, and 12 — with her.
Davis denied making threats but was charged with menacing, a misdemeanor, and placed under arrest, police said.
Father arrested while picking up children
After Davis was taken into custody, officers learned her children were waiting in a vehicle in the station’s parking lot. The children’s father, Harold Jenkins, 33, was contacted to pick them up while officers supervised the children.
Police said Jenkins appeared intoxicated when he arrived. Officers allowed him to leave with the children but stopped him moments later after he allegedly drove over a curb while exiting the station.
During the traffic stop, officers reported smelling alcohol and cannabis inside the vehicle and noted that Jenkins’ speech was slurred. He refused a breath test at the scene, police said.
Loaded firearms found in vehicle
While the children were inside the car, Jenkins allegedly told officers there were weapons in the vehicle. Police said they recovered a loaded semi-automatic rifle from the front seat where the 12-year-old had been sitting, along with a loaded semi-automatic pistol.
Jenkins was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, improper handling of firearms in a motor vehicle, and child endangerment. His driver’s license was immediately suspended.
Children placed with grandmother
Authorities said the three children were released into the custody of their grandmother following the arrests.
Both Davis and Jenkins later posted 10% of their respective $2,500 bonds and were released from custody. Court dates for both defendants had not been announced as of the latest update.
This case remains under review by local authorities.
