OAKLAND – A woman who was 19 years old was killed in a shooting that took place at an apartment on Sunday morning, and another individual was taken into custody, according to the police.
Based on the information provided by the police, a guy in his 30s was taken into custody in the vicinity of the incident. It was approximately 8:20 in the morning when the shots were fired in the 2600 block of 74th Avenue.
The identity of the victim was not immediately made public by the authorities because they were waiting to notify the victim’s relatives. Her death was confirmed at the scene of the incident.
Oakland police are now investigating the 17th homicide that has occurred in the year 2025. They had conducted 13 investigations at this point in the year 2024.
Whether or if the man and woman knew each other has not been disclosed by the police. In their statement, they stated that they were still investigating to identify the reason for the shooting.
