North Texas authorities hoping for “miracle” as search for missing Oklahoma girl continues

KTVT, Sherman, Texas As the search for an 8-year-old Oklahoma girl who was washed away in floodwaters after her family’s SUV collided with a ditch earlier this week, North Texas authorities maintained their optimism.

The title hasn’t been altered. On Thursday, Sherman Police Department Lt. Sam Boyle stated, “We’re still looking and hoping for a miracle.”

The multi-agency search, which is being led by Sherman police, began its fourth day on Friday.

When the automobile collided Tuesday morning, six passengers were inside. Four were rescued by police. The 8-year-old kid was carried away together with her father, Will Robinson, a respected coach from Durant, Oklahoma, who is 36 years old. Later that day, police discovered Robinson dead.

According to Boyle, it’s a terrible idea, especially for a parent.

The search for the missing Oklahoma girl

More than half of the region where police think the missing girl is most likely to be discovered has been searched, but they have not located her yet. They aren’t giving up, though. According to the Sherman police, they are conducting the search using every resource at their disposal.

According to Boyle, they have dive and kayak teams in addition to K-9 teams and drones.

Boyle said the teams have traversed almost half of the creek’s 15 kilometers. That section of the creek is the most likely location for the girl to be found, according to Texas Task Force 2, a law enforcement squad that specializes in rescue operations.

They became trapped in a drainage ditch after leaving the road, and the flooding levels of the ditch carried them south until they reached Post Oak Creek, according to Boyle.

Boyle, however, stated that they are still hoping for that miracle.

“We’re all with you,” he continued, “and we’re going to keep going till we can’t.”
