North Myrtle Beach Police Are Looking for the Man They Think Brought a 15-year-old Girl From Indiana to Horry County

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. –  A guy is being charged by North Myrtle Beach police with taking a 15-year-old girl from her home in Indiana to Horry County in June before leaving her there.

News13 was able to get a copy of a June 20 North Myrtle Beach police report over the weekend. It said that Brandon O’Hara, 29, will be charged with contributing to the delinquency of a child and will be arrested.

On June 20, police went to HOTO’s bar and grill to look for the girl who had been reported missing in Indiana. That’s where they first met O’Hara. The police report says that O’Hara told them that he had been talking to the girl on Snapchat for about three months.

The report also said that he told police that he had gone to Indiana to bring her back to South Carolina. He said they had been seeing each other for three months. He said they had slept together and that the girl had shown him her birth certificate, which said she was 19 years old.

On Friday, a family friend of the girl told News13 that the girl thought O’Hara was 17 years old.

When the police talked to O’Hara at the bar, they said they found the girl near 2nd Avenue South. They took her to the emergency room at North Strand Hospital because she said she was hungry and dizzy.

The girl also lied to the police officer about her name and wouldn’t give them any information about O’Hara, the report said. The girl was later questioned by police at a hearing in Horry County, and the report said she “failed to disclose any sexual contact with Mr. O’Hara.”

The police report says that O’Hara left Horry County on June 18 and went to Bloomfield, Indiana, to pick up the girl on June 19. He did this around 1 a.m. He left the house without going inside or meeting anyone else there. He and the girl got back to Horry County around 6 p.m.

The report said that O’Hara told police that he was homeless and that he and the other man had stayed at the Quail Inn and Suites. It was the girl who rode to work with him that day, and he told her to stay on the beach until the end of his shift at 11 p.m.
