Coastal Flood Advisory in Effect

The National Weather Service Wilmington reports that a Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 3 p.m. Monday. Nuisance flooding is expected around downtown Wilmington’s Riverwalk and areas near Wrightsville Beach. A few thunderstorms may develop late Monday night and again Tuesday evening, bringing brief downpours and lightning hazards.

Residents are urged to monitor tide cycles closely and avoid flooded roadways, keeping devices charged and alternate routes ready if commuting near the coast.

Tuesday is expected to be mostly sunny, with highs near 87°F, but storm chances increase after sunset. Travelers along I-40 and U.S. 74 should watch for wet pavement and brief visibility issues, particularly in coastal areas.
