WASHINGTON COUNTY, FLA. – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says that a man from North Carolina is in jail after reportedly resisting police with violence.
Police said the event happened around 6 p.m. when deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) and officers from the Chipley Police Department were called to a public parking lot on Main Street in Chipley to find a man with a gun.
When the cops got there, they saw a man getting out of a car with a gun on his chest. Dominic Marco Prince, the suspect, who is 33 years old, at first did what the cops asked and turned over the gun without any problems. He was then taken into custody to be questioned.
Officials said that Prince tried to leave while being questioned, though, and refused to do what they told him to do. Even after being warned several times, he reportedly continued to fight as deputies led him to a patrol car.
Prince was caught and taken to the jail in Washington County. A police officer was hit by him, and he is accused of resisting an officer with violence and publicly carrying an illegal weapon.
