New Hampshire Man Accused of Threatening Woman and Her Four Young Children with Shotgun

The cops say a man in New Hampshire pointed a shotgun at a woman and her four young children over the weekend. He is now being charged.

Around 8 p.m. on Saturday, November 30, police were called to a report of a man walking in the middle of Rockingham Road near Stokes Road in Londonderry without shoes. When they arrived, they found that the suspect had made threats against the 911 caller and her family before running off toward a nearby Mobil, according to the Londonderry Police Department.

Police eventually identified the suspect as Richard Currie, 62, from Londonderry. He was still holding the shotgun when he was found at the gas station.

In a statement, the department said, “He dropped his gun, cooperated with our officers, and was detained.”

Investigators say Currie told them that “several people” broke into his home on Stokes Road and that he fired his gun inside the house to defend himself.

Police said that after further research, they found that Currie had made up the story.

Police said of Currie, “Officers noticed that the subject looked drunk and admitted to using illegal drugs.” “Their investigation showed that there was no break-in or home invasion.”

There are five counts of reckless conduct with a firearm, criminal threatening with a firearm, unruly conduct, and two counts of felon in possession of a firearm that Currie was charged with on Monday.

Currie’s bail was set at $1,000 cash.
