Multi-Agency Task Force Nabs Two in New Orleans Drug and Weapons Bust

In a sweep that combined the forces of New Orleans Police officers, Homeland Security, ATF, LSP Narcotics, and US Postal Service agents, two men were arrested on counts of drug law violations. The two individuals, identified as Keenan Robinson and Alphonse Smith, were taken into custody following a rigorous joint narcotics investigation, as announced by the New Orleans Police Department on their official social media. NOPDNews’s Facebook post details the arrests made in the early hours of April 8.

During the operations, executed with high-risk search warrants on Saint Peter Street and Means Avenue, investigators enlisted the assistance of various special agents and analysts. They seized not only thousands of illegal pills but also sizeable quantities of illegal narcotics and cash.
Described in bright daylight, the confiscated items included six firearms — one confirmed as stolen — in excess of $3,000, and a stolen Black Nissan Rouge among the various substances ranging from Marijuana to Meth and Ecstasy pills suspected to contain Fentanyl.
Perpetuated upon the seized evidence, arrests of Robinson and Smith serve as a reminder that the workings of the legal system remain a complex mechanism, relentless in its pursuit of justice.
The aftermath of the investigation brought to light an array of illicit substances: five pounds of Marijuana, ninety grams of Heroin, about one and a half pounds of Crystal Meth and Ecstasy/Suspected Fentanyl pills, and roughly one hundred grams of Fentanyl powder.

They also unearthed a trove of pharmaceuticals, including 2,908 Tapentadol pills, 170 grams of Naloxone, 100 Carisoprodol tablets, and considerable amounts of cocaine in both crack and powder form, a testament to the entrenched struggle against the drug trade in New Orleans.

The New Orleans Police Department extends a call to the public for any additional information related to the suspects’ illegal activities.
The NOPDNews’s Facebook post encourages those privy to knowledge of the offenses to reach out to the First District detectives by dialing 504-658-6010.
