Missouri Man Charged with Murder After Killing Pregnant Wife Over Facebook Message, Baby Dies Days Later

Lebanon, MO – A Missouri man is facing first-degree murder charges after he allegedly shot and killed his pregnant estranged wife just hours after receiving a message on Facebook that told him to stay away from her. The unborn child, who was delivered by emergency medical staff, tragically died eight days later in the hospital.

Message Triggered Deadly Attack, Authorities Say

According to court records, Sidney Wilson V, 25, of Stoutland, was at a Tesla charging station in Fenton on June 5 when he received a Facebook message that left him “upset.” The message reportedly said that he and his family were not welcome around the victim, 21-year-old Reagan Wilson.

“When asked if the message upset him, he said that it did,” stated a probable cause affidavit. “He waited a while to respond back.”

Hours later, Wilson allegedly drove to Reagan’s Lebanon residence on North Adams Avenue, where he fatally shot her around 11:37 p.m.

Unborn Son Delivered, Later Dies

Emergency responders found Reagan clinging to life and transported her to a hospital, where doctors performed an emergency delivery. Her baby, Silas, was born alive but died on June 13, eight days after the attack.

Sidney Wilson, according to investigators, later visited the hospital where Silas was being treated, but made no inquiries about the shooting investigation. Instead, he asked officers when he could get his vehicle back.

Suspicious Statements and Shifting Stories

The probable cause statement outlines several inconsistent and suspicious statements made by Wilson to law enforcement. Wilson allegedly admitted that his relationship with Reagan had been strained since their separation in December 2024. He also reportedly told police that it would be “easier if he was dead.”

He initially confessed to owning a gun that matched the murder weapon but claimed he had sold it in April to a random man at a restaurant. However, surveillance footage contradicted this story, showing Wilson interacting only with restaurant staff and never speaking with anyone else.

Charges and Custody Status

Wilson has been charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. He is currently being held without bond at the Laclede County Jail and was scheduled for arraignment on Monday.

Family Speaks Out After Arrest

Reagan’s family expressed relief that Wilson has been apprehended, calling it “long overdue.”

“Their sister was just taken, for no reason,” said Sarah Ice, Reagan’s mother, in an interview with Ozarks First. “Our almost-adult kids are struggling and terrified to go outside at night.”

Jeff Ice, Reagan’s stepfather, added, “We’re very thankful we can start getting some closure from this point on.”
