Police said of teen Troy Coleman, “We are working with local authorities to make sure he can safely return to Michigan to be with his family.”
A kid from Michigan who hadn’t been seen since May was recently found safe and sound in Miami. He showed up on a live stream by accident.
In a post on May 21, the Flint Township Police Department first asked people to help them find Troy Coleman.
“He was last seen leaving his home in Flint Township, possibly to get on an MTA bus.” “His family and friends haven’t heard from him in a while and are getting worried,” the police message said. “He is 6 feet 4 inches tall, weighs 180 pounds, has blue eyes, and has a scar above his left eye.”
WNEM, a CBS station, reports that almost two months later, FaZe Lacy and a friend named Clix were live streaming on Twitch when a person in green swim trunks walked in and started talking to them. It turned out to be Troy.
According to CBS station WKRC, they didn’t know who the stranger was at the time. After that, his brother reached out to them.
Lacy wrote on social media on July 3 that they found out what was going on when their brother sent them a message. “Now his family knows he is alive and in Miami,” Lacy said.
The next day, Lacy wrote in another X post that they were able to get in touch with Coleman’s family.
“We got into contact with his brother and told him what hotel [the teen] said he was staying at on stream,” Lacy said. “He was caught and is being held in a cell in Miami until he can be sent back to Michigan to be with his family.” “Thanks, guys. The internet is crazy powerful.”
In a Facebook post on July 4, police reported that Coleman had been found.
“The Flint Township Police Department would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to everybody who shared the missing person information about Troy Coleman,” they said. “He has been found safe in Miami, Florida and we are working with local authorities to arrange his safe return to Michigan to be with his family.”
