Memphis Police Said That a Mass Shooting During a Block Party Has Resulted in Two Fatalities and Several Injuries

As a result of a mass shooting that took place on Saturday evening during a block party in Memphis, Tennessee, two people have been killed and six others have been injured, according to the police.

Saturday evening at 7:19 p.m., officers from the Memphis Police Department responded to a shooting that had taken place in the Orange Mound community on the 2400 block of Carnes Avenue.

At the scene, law enforcement officers discovered five victims who had been shot. Two of the victims were males, and they were pronounced dead. The remaining three victims were rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

CJ Davis, the interim chief of police, stated during a press conference that the police are actively seeking to locate the individuals who are suspected of carrying out the shooting. According to her, the authorities are aware of at least two individuals who are suspected of opening fire during the block party.

During the time that the police were investigating the incident, many crime scenes at the intersection of Carnes Avenue and Grand Street were sealed off. The Memphis Fire Department dispatched a number of ambulances to the location of the incident.

Based on the information provided by the police, the shooting took place at a block party that did not have a permit. There were perhaps 200 to 300 persons present at the event.
