Massive Drug Bust in Fond du Lac County Leads to Dozens of Arrests, Drugs Seized

Fond du Lac County, WI – A multi-jurisdictional drug bust in Fond du Lac County led to several dozen arrests over the course of 74 traffic stops in just nine hours. The operation, conducted on August 19, 2025, was a collaborative effort by law enforcement agencies from Fond du Lac, Waupun, and the Wisconsin State Patrol, along with K9 teams and the Lake Winnebago Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group (LWA-MEG).

Operation Details and Arrests

According to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, the goal of the operation was to saturate high drug trafficking areas and arrest individuals involved in illegal activities. The saturation patrol began at 3 p.m. and lasted until midnight, targeting locations throughout the county.

The operation resulted in a wide variety of drug-related and misdemeanor arrests, including:

Felony Arrests and Seized Drugs:

  • Possession with Intent to Deliver MDMA (Ecstasy): 2 arrests, 84 grams seized
  • Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine: 1 arrest, 53 grams seized
  • Possession with Intent to Deliver THC (2nd offense): 2 arrests, 172 grams seized
  • Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine (2nd offense): 2 arrests, 78 grams seized
  • Possession of Cocaine: 2 arrests
  • Possession of Methamphetamine: 5 arrests
  • Possession of Fentanyl: 3 arrests
  • Possession of THC (2nd offense): 1 arrest
  • Felony Bail Jumping: 6 arrests
  • Delivery of Illegal Articles to Inmates: 1 arrest

Misdemeanor Arrests:

  • Possession of Cocaine: 2 arrests
  • Resisting/Obstructing an Officer: 2 arrests
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: 8 arrests
  • Possession of THC: 3 arrests
  • Misdemeanor Bail Jumping: 9 arrests

Seizures and Police Operations

The task force conducted 11 K9 deployments and issued 14 traffic citations, 53 warnings, and made 3 arrests for OWIs. Drugs seized during the operation included:

  • 59 grams of meth
  • 80 grams of cocaine
  • 176 grams of THC
  • 84 grams of ecstasy
  • 16 grams of fentanyl

Arrests were made across multiple cities in Wisconsin, including Fond du Lac, Juneau, Kimberly, Menasha, Milwaukee, Oshkosh, Two Rivers, Waupun, Winneconne, and Wisconsin Rapids.

Notable Arrests and Suspects

Several unusual incidents were reported during the operation, including one suspect who attempted to flee after being arrested days earlier for a drug offense. The suspect reportedly tried to discard a large quantity of drugs while fleeing.

Another notable stop involved a woman entering a pickup truck and speaking to a man inside. The two were unaware of each other’s identity, and the woman identified herself as homeless. Officers suspected the situation may be related to prostitution activities.

Sheriff’s Statement on Continued Efforts

Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt issued the following statement after the operation:

“The Sheriff’s Office, along with state and municipal law enforcement agencies across Fond du Lac County, remains committed to working together to combat illegal drug trafficking and other associated crimes. These crimes not only destroy lives and families but often involve illegal firearms, human trafficking, and other violent crimes. An interdiction task force like this is just one of the many tactics we use to combat these illegal activities.”

Final Arrests and Jail Bookings

A total of 27 inmates were booked into the Fond du Lac County Jail during the operation. Law enforcement continues to pursue follow-up investigations stemming from the traffic stops and arrests.
