Massachusetts Under Heat Advisory as Boston Hits Record High Temperature

Today marks the beginning of yet another stretch of hot and humid weather, and for some people, this will be the third heat wave of the summer. On that day, the city of Boston attained a new maximum temperature for the day, making it a day that set a new record for the city.

Both Tuesday and Wednesday have been designated as NEXT Weather Alert Days by the Western Broadcasting Company’s Weather Team.

An additional Heat Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for the majority of the state of Massachusetts and southern New England until 8 o’clock on Wednesday evening.

Late in the month of July, temperatures in the nineties or, for that matter, several days in a row with temperatures in the nineties or higher are not at all rare. During this summer, the difference has been the continued presence of hot and humid days, as well as the occurrence of high temperatures that are quite close to establishing new records.

By the end of this month, Boston will have reached or surpassed their average number of days experiencing temperatures above 90 degrees for a full year, and there is still a significant amount of summer yet to go.

The city is currently experiencing 14 days with temperatures of 90 degrees or more, and there will be a few more days like this coming up this week.

The temps on Tuesday

With temperatures hitting the middle to upper 90s, Tuesday is going to be the hottest day of this run of warmer weather.

The “feels-like” temperatures will be close to or slightly above 100 degrees if you add in an extremely humid air mass to the mix.

There is a difficulty to record highs

The temperature in Boston reached 99 degrees at 3:33 p.m., making it the hottest day on record for the city. As a result, the record for Tuesday’s date, which had been established in 1933, was broken. It was the second hottest day of the year in the borough of the city.

It is also expected that Worcester will attempt to break the record high.

Heat is still present on Wednesday

However, there will be no break from the excessive humidity on Wednesday, and the temperatures will only be a few degrees “cooler” than they were on Tuesday.

The conclusion of the week is still a little bit of a mystery. Thursday is the day that we are certain will bring an end to the heat wave, and we anticipate that temperatures will decrease dramatically.

Possible heavy precipitation

At the moment, it is not possible to predict how much precipitation we will receive on Thursday and Friday.

The models are having a hard time resolving the formation and location of this storm potential as of right now, but there is a possibility that there will be widespread and severe rainfall throughout this timeframe.
