Man Wearing Rolex Mugged and Beaten Unconscious Just Before Entering Elevator; Suspect Arrested by LAPD

A cruel mugging in downtown Los Angeles was caught on camera. A guy wearing a Rolex watch was beaten unconscious and robbed by another man.

The theft happened on April 28, 2024, in the 800 block of East 1st Street. Pablo Garcia, a 25-year-old man from Los Angeles, was caught by police. The attack is shown on video shared by the Los Angeles Police Department. The attacker hits the victim in the head several times.

“The suspect reached for the victim’s Rolex watch, then brutally assaulted the victim to the point where the victim lost consciousness,” LAPD said. “The suspect removed the victim’s Rolex watch and fled the location.”

On video, a guy in a red shirt and dark pants walks into the building and toward an elevator. The attacker is close behind them. He or she is wearing a black and white hoodie and black pants.

The man in the hoodie sneaks up behind his target and seems to grab his left wrist for his watch. The attacker hits the man in the face with a sucker punch as he turns around. The man falls to the ground.

Watch as the victim’s sunglasses and another personal item fly across the floor as he hits the tile floor.

The suspect works to take the watch off the victim’s wrist while the hurt man lies on the ground, as seen on video. When the victim moves, the attacker hits him in the head several more times until the victim seems to pass out.

He or she then runs away with the Rolex watch.

Police said that the person who was hurt was treated for them.

Garcia, the suspect, was caught by cops in the City of Downey, California, on May 14. The police said he was taken into custody without any problems.

Garcia is being held on $450,000 bail after being charged with robbery.

The LAPD said that agents are very sure that Garcia has robbed other people who have not been reported. Police put out a picture of Garcia and asked anyone who might have been a victim to come forward and talk to detectives.

The LAPD is also asking people to help them find the victim’s watch.
