MONTGOMERY, Alabama (WKRG) – Todd Overstreet was found guilty of breaking into the home of a woman and raping her on Christmas Day in the year 2020. Therefore, he was sentenced to life in prison by a judge from the Mobile County Circuit Court.
On the day of Christmas in the year 2020, Overstreet allegedly broke into a woman’s home in the Country Club Village neighborhood of Mobile while under the influence of drugs, according to the prosecution.
While she was away, he concealed himself in her closet, and when she came back, he drew a revolver on her and started sexually assaulting her.
A manhunt was conducted by the authorities for a period of two weeks, during which time he was discovered by a law enforcement officer and taken into custody when he was wandering in the vicinity of Cody Road North.
Overstreet was found guilty of first-degree burglary, sex abuse by force, and sodomy, and he was sentenced to life in prison. Additional to that, he is currently serving a concurrent 10-year term for the assault of the second degree.
The time that Overstreet had already spent in Metro Jail was also taken into consideration while determining the length of his prison sentence.
