On Wednesday morning, a three-vehicle crash on GA 77 at Stephen Johnson Road in Hart County killed one person.

The Georgia State Patrol reported that a 1995 Ford Ranger, a 2023 Dodge Ram 1500, and a 2021 GMC Yukon XL were all going north on GA 77 just before 9:24 a.m.

The Dodge and GMC were stopped in a construction area.

According to the inquiry, the Ford was following too closely and collided with the back of the Dodge, pushing it into the GMC.

The driver of the Ford, William Stanley Bridges, 68, of Elberton, was pronounced dead on the spot. GSP said he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the GMC had non-life-threatening injuries, while the driver of the Dodge was unhurt.
