Man Dies After Falling Through Ice in Bay of Green Bay; Investigation Underway

SUAMICO, Wis. – The guy who was pulled from the ice has died, according to an update from the Suamico Fire Department.

Officials say that the man who was pulled from the Bay of Green Bay on Monday night was declared dead at the hospital. The firefighters in Suamico sent their apologies to the family and friends who were hurt by the accident.

The news release did say that more information about what caused the accident would be made public as the probe goes on. No information was given about who the man was.

A call came in on December 9 about a man who fell through the ice on the Bay of Green Bay just before 4:45 p.m. After a water rescue effort, the man was pulled from the water.

At the scene, actions were allegedly taken to save lives. After that, the man was taken to a hospital.

The government wanted to warn people not to go out on ice-covered water until the conditions have been “thoroughly” evaluated.
