Man Critically Injured After Jumping in Front of Woman’s Car in Chicago Hit-and-Run

CHICAGO – A man is fighting for his life after he was hit by a car in a dramatic incident early Sunday morning on Chicago’s Southwest Side. Police say a quarrel between the man and a woman took a dangerous turn when he jumped in front of her car as she tried to leave.

It all happened around 4:50 a.m. near 60th Street and Rockwell Street in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood. According to police reports, a 36-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man were arguing by the side of the road.

During the argument, the man reportedly refused to get into their car, which escalated the tension. As the woman got behind the wheel and attempted to drive away, the man suddenly jumped in front of the moving vehicle.

The impact left the man with severe abdominal injuries. Emergency responders rushed him to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he remains in critical condition.

In the immediate aftermath, the woman drove away from the scene. However, police managed to locate and take her into custody shortly after the incident.

Authorities have not yet released the names of either person involved.

Police from the Wentworth Area are currently handling the investigation. No further details were available at the time of reporting.
