The guy who is accused of punching actor Steve Buscemi in the face earlier this month in Manhattan has been arrested, police said.
Police in New York City said that 50-year-old Clifton Williams was arrested Friday afternoon and charged with second-degree assault.
It wasn’t clear right away on Friday night if Williams had a lawyer who could speak for him.
Police say Buscemi, 66, of “Boardwalk Empire” fame, was in the Kips Bay neighborhood on May 8 when a man came up to him and hit him in the face.
It was said that the star was texting on his phone while leaning against a wall around noon during the attack.
Police said that Buscemi’s left eye was bruised, swollen, and bleeding.
Buscemi’s publicist said that the star was “incredibly sad” about the attack that happened while he was walking in New York City.
Williams was named a suspect by police on Wednesday, and several pictures of him were made public.
Buscemi used to be a firefighter in New York City and was in the hit HBO show “Boardwalk Empire.”
His was the second attack in Manhattan this spring on a TV character. In late March, Michael Stuhlbarg was walking near Central Park when he was hit in the head with a rock.
Also, Buscemi is known for his great movie parts in movies like “Fargo” and “Reservoir Dogs.”
