BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A man involved in the Bloomfield Township vehicle break-in has been apprehended and is now facing five felony charges.
Police claimed that on the early morning of January 19, 2025, nearly a dozen Bloomfield Township residents were victims of vehicle break-ins and theft. The Bloomfield Township Police Department and the Troy Special Investigations Unit (SIU) conducted a lengthy investigation before identifying Samuel Bender Jr.
The case was presented to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office, which issued a five-count felony warrant: four charges of breaking into an automobile and one count of stealing from an automobile.
Bender Jr. was arrested on April 3, 2025, as a result of a collaboration between Troy SIU and the Detroit Police Department.
Bender Jr. was arrested while in possession of a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee that had been stolen from Birmingham within the previous week.
The 48th District Court arraigned Bender Jr. on April 4, 2025, and imposed a $5,000,000 cash bond.
