Yats Cajun and Creole Restaurant to Close
After two and a half years of service at Jefferson Pointe, Yats, the Cajun and Creole restaurant, has announced it will close its doors on Sunday. The restaurant, known for its flavorful dishes and casual atmosphere, thanked customers for their support since opening in April 2023.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce our store will be closing,” the restaurant shared on Facebook. “We believe we’ll be back in the future, at a new location, and we can’t wait to welcome you again.”
Yats originally opened in Indianapolis in 2001 and has expanded to other cities in Indiana and Ohio over the years.
One Ten Craft Meatery Ends Regular Dinner Service
One Ten Craft Meatery in Warsaw held its final regular dinner service Saturday, marking the end of a 10-year run in the city. Owners Jason and Candace Brown expressed their gratitude to the community for “countless memorable moments” and the joy of sharing their passion for craft cuisine.
“We want to thank our guests for their continued support over the years,” the Browns shared in their announcement. “While regular dinner service is ending, One Ten will continue to host private events.”
Moo-Over Opens New Location at Covington Plaza
Moo-Over, the dairy-free, gluten-free, egg-free dessert shop, has celebrated the grand opening of its new location at 6380 W. Jefferson Blvd. in Covington Plaza. Founded by Julie Hurd in 2020, Moo-Over’s new Fort Wayne location will offer more space for production and improved customer experience after spending five years in Columbia City.
Moo-Over is open Tuesday through Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Ghibli Mediterranean Cuisine Reopens at Union Street Market
Ghibli Mediterranean Cuisine has officially reopened its stall at Union Street Market in Electric Works after a brief hiatus. The food stall, which had paused service on Aug. 31, used the break to refresh its brand and create a new menu that includes Middle Eastern favorites such as falafel, tabbouleh, and baklava. A new dessert addition is the Dubai chocolate strawberry cup.
“We are excited to welcome our loyal customers back and offer them a refreshed menu that celebrates the rich flavors of the Mediterranean,” the restaurant said in their reopening statement.
Mixology 2025 Gala on Nov. 7
Science Central will celebrate its 30th anniversary on Nov. 7 with the Mixology 2025 gala, a fundraising event that combines creativity and science. Guests will enjoy a Battle of the Bartenders, where some of the city’s top mixologists compete to create themed cocktails. This year, the event will also feature nonalcoholic options through a partnership with Swizzle.
“Mixology is truly a celebration of creativity, blending the precision of chemistry with the artistry of flavor,” says Megan Price, Science Central’s development director. “As we mark our 30th anniversary, this event is a fantastic opportunity for the community to support our mission of hands-on STEM education while enjoying a sophisticated night out.”
Tickets for the event, which runs from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., range from $150 for single tickets to $275 for couples.
Raising Cane’s Gets Into the Halloween Spirit
Raising Cane’s is celebrating Halloween this year with its first-ever glow-in-the-dark specialty cup and a haunted virtual reality experience. Customers can purchase the limited-edition Halloween cup for $1.39 with any combo or 32-ounce drink.
“The collectible cup also unlocks a virtual reality ‘haunted Cane’s’ experience via QR code, where fans can explore a spooky digital restaurant, play games, and earn surprise treats,” Raising Cane’s shared in their announcement.
The cup and VR experience will be available through Oct. 31 or while supplies last.
