Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they’ll have plenty of motivation to get the ‘W.’ A win for the Bears just wasn’t in the stars this past Saturday as the team never even grasped a temporary lead. They found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unfortunate 87-66 punch to the gut against the Oklahoma Sooners. Cent. Arkansas was surely aware of their 23-point disadvantage in the point spread, but the foreknowledge did nothing to prevent the result. One thing holding Cent. Arkansas back was the mediocre play of guard Collin Cooper, who did not have his best game: he finished with 12 points on 4-for-14 shooting in his 35 minutes on the court. Meanwhile, Little Rock came up short against the Jacksonville State Gamecocks this past Saturday, falling 72-62. Cent. Arkansas is now 5-6 while Little Rock sits at 3-8. Two defensive stats to keep an eye on: The Bears are 349th worst in college basketball in points allowed per game, with 78.6 on average. The Trojans have experienced some struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the game with the 352nd most points allowed per game in college basketball, having given up 80.1 on average.
