LAS VEGAS — As part of a plea deal, the two women who robbed and killed a man in his hotel room on the Las Vegas Strip could get 10 years in jail.
Ariana Taylor, 22, Erika Covington, 21, and Bryan Altamirano-Solano, 25, were charged with second-degree murder in May 2023. Records show that they decided to plead guilty. On the first report, police said the women killed Altamirano-Solano in his Caesars Palace room and then took his cash.
The court papers say that Altamirano-Solano was caught on camera talking with two women in a valet area at around 2:14 a.m.
Then, around 2:35 a.m., another camera caught the three of them going to Altamirano-Solano’s room. Altamirano-Solano is seen with a bag over her chest in the video. Authorities say that less than 15 minutes later, another camera caught Covington and Taylor running through a hallway. They said that one of the women was holding Altamirano-Solano’s bag.
Later, detectives found two racy videos on Altamirano-Solano’s phone. The videos allegedly showed Covington and Taylor.
Police have never said in public which woman they think shot the man.
Records show that the deal plea said the women could get either life in prison with the chance of parole after 10 years or 25 years in prison with release after 10 years. Any extra time served on the robbery charge would run along with the murder charge, making the total sentence 10 to 25 years.
Altamirano-Solano’s friend told the cops that he didn’t speak English and was from Nicaragua and wanted to come to the city.
At first, Covington and Taylor said they were not guilty, and their hearing was set for next year. Their court date was set for January 23.
