Kevin Durant fires back at FS1’s Emmanuel Acho after ‘Legacy Formula’ discussion

The newest member of the has wasted no time in reminding the residents of H-Town about his favorite pastime: beefing online.

On Monday afternoon, got into a new feud on X. This time, it centered around Fox Sports 1 commentator Emmanuel Acho and the discussion of NBA players’ legacies.

During a segment discussing whether or not KD’s frequent changes in team have hurt his legacy, Acho broke down a formula he created to calculate an NBA player’s legacy.

It’s simple: you take the number of championships they’ve won and divide it by the number of teams they’ve played for in their career. Above all else, the system favors loyalty, heavily penalizing stars who have made multiple stops throughout their careers.

The lowest scoring player he mentioned in a post on X explaining the formula was Durant, whose two championships across five stops (the Rockets will be his fifth team) give him a 0.4 legacy score.

LEGACY FORMULA:

Championships won ÷ Teams played for = Player Legacy

Rings Teams Score

Steph: 4 1 4.0

Bron: 4 3 1.3

KD: 2 5* 0.4

highest value is greatest

For obvious reasons, KD didn’t seem to appreciate Acho’s rationale, or his willingness to show off his scoring system during a segment that specifically discussed Durant.

To the surprise of nobody who has paid attention, the Slim Reaper fired back:

According to The Great Kevin Durant’s legacy formula that was created in the best labs at MIT, Emmanuel is the worst linebacker of all time. You sure you wanna listen to this guy about greatness?

Ouch. KD got him there. The court of public opinion seems to think so too, as Durant’s rebuttal currently has 14,000 likes compared to the 1,200 likes on Acho’s original post.

This rebuttal is the latest in Durant’s saga of online battles. He has never been shy about entering heated debates with his critics, and it doesn’t seem like that will change as he starts a new chapter in Clutch City.
