It got very heated between Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) and Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) on Thursday night after Luna told Crockett to “calm down.”
The House Oversight Committee was going over a contempt of Congress charge against Attorney General Merrick Garland for not releasing the audio of President Joe Biden’s interview with special counsel Robert Hur. Crockett asked what kinds of comments could be kept on the record during the meeting. It was Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) who started the fight by calling Crockett’s eyebrows “fake” a few minutes before.
After that, Crockett looked like he fired a shot at Greene:
“May I ask, just to make sure I understand your decision better? If someone on this committee then starts talking about someone’s bleached blonde, bad-built, butch body, that wouldn’t be discussing personalities, right?” Crockett asked James Comer (R-KY), who is the head of the House Oversight Committee.
Moon then told Comer to take Crockett’s words off the record.
Crockett: “I’m trying to get more information on what counts.”
Moon: “We’re not going to do this.” You guys before—”
Then Crockett and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) spoke over Luna to say that Republicans were trying to get Greene’s words about eyelashes taken out of the record, but Democrats were against it.
Crockett was told by Luna to “calm down.”
Crooks: “No!” “No, no, no, because that’s what you guys do!”
She said, “I can’t hear you because you’re yelling.”
Crooks: “No!” Do not tell me to calm down! Because you guys make noise and then can’t handle it! There will be trouble if I come and talk crap about her!”
Moon: “I don’t understand why you’re acting that way.” It’s not cute.
