Josh Hines-Allen, a defensive end for the Jacksonville Jaguars, revealed on Friday that his 7-year-old son, Wesley, is undergoing treatment for cancer.
In a three-minute social media video, Hines-Allen and his wife, Kaitlyn, broke the news. Days before last year’s season finale, which Hines-Allen missed due to personal reasons, Wesley developed a high fever and began bleeding from a tooth, which led to the diagnosis of acute promyelocytic leukemia, they claimed.

Additionally, on Friday, Hines-Allen and his spouse revealed that their charitable organization, Four One For All, will begin a season-long initiative dubbed “Four One For Hope” to donate to four non-profits that focus on cancer every month of the NFL regular season.
The funds will be sent to the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation in December, the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Jacksonville in October, the American Cancer Society in October, and Nemours Children’s Health in September.
In a statement, Hines-Allen stated, “We want to make sure that families experiencing similar things receive the same amount of love and support as we did.”
Two-time Pro Bowl pass rusher Hines-Allen has 53 career sacks in six seasons with Jacksonville, two fewer than Tony Brackens’ franchise record. Prior to the 2024 season, he agreed to a five-year, $141.25 million contract, of which $76.5 million was completely guaranteed.
