Jacksonville, FL Faces Coastal Flood Advisory and Scattered Showers Through Tuesday Morning

Jacksonville, FLTidal flooding continues to affect Jacksonville and northeast Florida as strong onshore winds push tides above normal levels. Residents are urged to stay alert as a Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Coastal Flooding and High Tides

Streets near the St. Johns River and other low-lying coastal areas may experience minor flooding around high tide. The National Weather Service in Jacksonville reports east winds near 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph, keeping water levels elevated and surf rough along the coast.

“Residents should avoid entering the Atlantic surf or tidal inlets until conditions improve,” officials said, noting that rip current risks remain high.

Showers and Isolated Thunderstorms

Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected across Duval, St. Johns, and Nassau counties on Monday and into Monday night. Localized downpours are possible in some areas. By Tuesday night, weather conditions are expected to improve as winds ease and flood waters gradually recede.

Drivers are advised to remain cautious near flooded intersections and coastal roads, particularly during high tide cycles. Officials recommend monitoring local alerts and avoiding parking vehicles in flood-prone zones.
