Indianapolis, IN – Logan Quisenberry, 19, has been charged with capital murder, criminal recklessness, and drug-related offenses after allegedly committing a road rage shooting on I-465 in Indianapolis on August 21. Following a search warrant, police also uncovered drugs and homemade explosive devices at his residence.
The Road Rage Incident
The incident occurred around 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 21, when Quisenberry, riding a motorcycle, allegedly approached traffic in the northbound lanes of I-465 near I-69 at a high rate of speed. According to the Indiana State Police, Quisenberry pointed a gun at a vehicle, fired multiple shots, and then backed up to confront the driver.
The victim, a man driving with his wife and two children, said Quisenberry pointed a gun at him, fired at him, then fired three shots into the air. Afterward, the suspect fled the scene.
Police Investigation and Identification
Witnesses provided crucial information, and police used traffic camera footage and phone records to track Quisenberry. A license plate camera showed the motorcycle exiting at the Allisonville Road exit, just minutes after the shooting. One tipster even confirmed selling the motorcycle to Quisenberry in July.
Further investigation revealed Quisenberry had been seen with the motorcycle at a Noblesville gas station and used a GoPro camera mounted on his helmet, which captured the incident. However, the SD card was destroyed, though a screen recording of the incident was allegedly found on his phone.
Search of Quisenberry’s Home Yields Drugs and Explosives
A search warrant led police to Quisenberry’s home on Indianola Avenue on Sept. 11, where they detained him and uncovered a significant stash of drugs and homemade explosives:
- 17 pounds of marijuana
- 268 grams of psilocybin mushrooms
- $2,000 in cash
Additionally, police found four homemade explosive devices. The Indiana State Police Bomb Squad confirmed that the devices were indeed explosive. Quisenberry led officers to a storage unit, where they recovered the handgun used in the shooting, matching the descriptions provided by witnesses.
Quisenberry’s Criminal History and Additional Charges
Quisenberry has a criminal history that includes previous arrests for indecency with a child, assault, and attempted carjacking in multiple states, but police believe the road rage shooting and explosive devices may not be isolated incidents.
Authorities have stated that there are more people involved and additional crimes to follow up on as part of the ongoing investigation. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office is continuing to review cellphone evidence to build the case further.
Charges and Legal Proceedings
Quisenberry was arrested and booked into the Marion County Jail and appeared in court on Sept. 17. He was given a $250,000 surety bond. Quisenberry is scheduled for a status hearing on Sept. 24. He faces a variety of serious charges, including pointing a firearm, criminal recklessness, and possession of a destructive device in addition to drug dealing charges.
