Washington, Olympia – There have been 2,863 arrests of drunk drivers made by the Washington State Patrol thus far in the year 2024.
There have been 8,076 collisions that have been investigated by the WSP, and 46 of those collisions have resulted in a fatality. Also included in this number is drunk driving.
The WSP recorded an additional 7,254 drivers who were distracted while driving and urged the general public to maintain vigilance while behind the wheel.
“Let’s work together to keep the roads safe by remembering to remember to drive without distractions and encouraging those around you to do the same,” said the World Safety Organization (WSP).
As of the year 2030, the Washington State Department of Transportation has set a goal of achieving zero fatalities on the state’s highways.
