Recent news stories and Congressman James Comer’s (R-KY) public comments make it sound like he’s almost ready to give up on the impeachment investigation into Vice President Joe Biden. But when he spoke on Fox News on Sunday, the Kentucky congressman struck a very different tone. He said the president has committed “many crimes” and hinted that his committee will soon hold the president responsible.
After House Republicans sent criminal reports to the DOJ for Hunter Biden and James Biden, Comer celebrated in a crazy interview with Maria Bartiromo on Sunday Morning Futures. He said that both of them lied to Congress. It was Sunday, though, and Comer turned his attention back to John Biden.
Comer said, “Joe Biden was the main person who sold the brand and persuaded shady people around the world that his family was speaking for him and that they should wire that money to those fake accounts.”
But Bartiromo asked Comer why the committee only sent criminal recommendations for perjury. This comes after she questioned Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) about the House Oversight Committee’s lack of progress.
“Where are the reports of crimes for FARA?” What Bartiromo said. “To hide illicit funds?” For being dishonest? For trying to get things done? “Where are they?”
“Our journey is just beginning,” Comer told her. “For many of the crimes the Bidens have committed, the time limit has passed…” We’ll take care of those things and Joe Biden, though. Remember that Joe Biden is being looked into. Hunter Biden, Jim Biden, Eric Sherwin, and Devon Archer are all people who are testifying in a case against Joe Biden. It was always about Joe Biden. We’re going to do everything we can to check up on Hunter Biden and all of his shady friends. This is just the start. But the next step is for Joe Biden to be held responsible. Everyone who has been following this case will be looking forward to the next step.
Bartiromo seemed to understand that comment to mean that Republicans in the House are about to file a criminal complaint against the president.
He asked, “Are you saying that Joe Biden could be charged with money laundering?” Bartiromo spoke up. “Did you just say that?”
Comer gave an amazing answer.
Comer said, “I don’t think it’s a secret that Joe Biden has done a lot of bad things.” “And I believe you will soon see a report.” That report is coming soon. That report will likely be an interim one that tells everyone what crimes Biden and his staff have done during this investigation and the years that Obama and Biden were in office.
Even Republicans in the House have had a hard time believing that crazy claim. A few weeks ago, Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE) told NBC that he has not seen proof of a “specific crime” that Joe Biden has committed.
“Right now, there’s no clear crime,” Bacon said.
When asked about the possibility of impeaching Biden, Rep. Doug LaMalfa (R-CA) told CNN, “It needs to be a high bar, and if we are contemplating that on the president… I don’t think we are there yet.”
Comer recently made headlines when he refused to call a vote on impeachment when Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) challenged him to do so.
