Illinois Woman Charged With Attempted Murder After Stabbing Incident, Police Say

ST. CHARLES, IL — A 39-year-old woman has been charged with attempted murder after she allegedly stabbed another woman multiple times during a violent altercation in a suburban neighborhood, according to local authorities.

As first reported, officers from the St. Charles Police Department responded to the 300 block of South 15th Street around 3:50 p.m. on Friday after receiving multiple 911 calls about a woman being attacked with a knife.

When officers arrived, they found the victim suffering from stab wounds. The woman, whose identity has not been released, was rushed to a nearby hospital where she underwent emergency treatment. Her current condition has not been disclosed.

Suspect in Custody After Attempted Escape

Police identified the suspect as Alicia A. Davis, 39, of St. Charles. She allegedly fled the scene before officers arrived but was located and taken into custody shortly afterward in the area of South 14th Street.

“This was an isolated incident between two individuals who knew each other. There is no threat to the public,”
said St. Charles Police Chief James Keegan, as reported.

Investigators believe the stabbing was the result of a personal dispute, though the exact motive has not been officially released.

Formal Charges and Bond Hearing

Davis has been charged with the following:

  • Attempted First-Degree Murder
  • Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon
  • Aggravated Domestic Battery

She was taken to the Kane County Jail, where a judge set her bond at $500,000. Her next court date is pending.

Community Reaction

Local residents expressed shock at the level of violence in what is typically a quiet neighborhood. Police have reassured the public that this appears to be an isolated domestic matter, not a random act of violence.

“We’re thankful to the officers and emergency responders who acted quickly,” one neighbor told reporters.
