KingwoodJeff Wilson, a teacher at Kingwood Park High School, was one of the people killed in Friday’s tragic Hill Country Floods.
Wilson’s friends, instructors, and students met at Kingwood Town Center park on Sunday night for a prayer vigil.

Numerous people gathered to pray for the victims and share memories.
Wilson’s friends tell KPRC 2 that Wilson, his wife Amber, and son Shiloh were camping at a nearby Kerr County RV park for a youth rodeo.
His son and wife are still unaccounted for.
Wilson taught vehicle collision at Kingwood Park High School, according to his former students.
Ethan Soeczak, a 2020 alumnus of Kingwood Park High School, recalled, “We used to always joke around in his class.” To me, he undoubtedly resembled a father figure.
Even after graduating from high school, Soeczak maintained contact with his former teacher, claiming that his large personality made him unique.
He was an excellent leader who would treat you like family, Soeczak recalled.
At the vigil, Soeczak was one of several speakers.
At the conclusion of the speech, Soeczak said, “Mr. Wilson, I love you.”

Monica Schultz, the assistant principal at Greentree Elementary School, was primarily responsible for organizing the vigil. Humble ISD also includes the school.
She claimed that after learning of Wilson’s passing, she felt driven to unite the community.
According to Schultz, prayer has power. We are genuinely a family, we love one another, and we help one another through difficult times.
There is a donation drive taking place in Kingwood on Monday and Tuesday at two sites if you would want to assist families impacted by the floods.
