Hot, Dry Day Expected in North Georgia with Low Rain Chances

Atlanta, GANorth Georgia is bracing for a hot and mostly dry day with highs reaching the low 90s. According to the Atlanta News First forecast, Thursday’s high will be 90°F, just above the normal high of 89°F for this time of year.

Slight Chance of Rain Early, Clear Skies by Afternoon

As a weak weather system moves northeast out of north Georgia, there will be a slight chance of rain early in the morning. Spotty showers could pop up before 7 a.m., but after that, the day is expected to be mostly dry. Expect partly cloudy skies this afternoon, with temperatures warming into the low 90s, thanks to reduced rain chances and more sunshine.

Evening Storms Possible in East Georgia

While north Georgia will remain relatively dry, the same weak system will bring a few storms to east Georgia later in the day. Storms are expected to develop after 4 p.m., particularly around the area from Athens to Eatonton. The chance of rain across north Georgia today is 20%.

Summer Heat Continues into the Weekend

Looking ahead to the weekend, a typical summer pattern will return, with low chances of afternoon storms and highs in the low 90s. This pattern is expected to continue throughout the weekend, making for a hot and humid finish to the week.
