National City, CA – A homicide investigation is underway after a woman was found dead at her home in National City on Wednesday. National City police responded to a 911 call from a man who reported finding his wife in a pool of blood with a stranger inside the house.
Suspect Flees and Arrested
According to National City Police, officers received the call around 2:15 p.m. from a man at a residence in the 400 block of East Division Street. Upon arriving, officers saw the stranger jump out of a second-story window and flee, prompting a short chase. The suspect, 30-year-old Noel Trevino, was taken into custody on the 500 block of East First Street.
Victim Found with Stab Wounds
Police then returned to the home and found the victim in the kitchen, where she had suffered stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigations Ongoing
At this time, police have not confirmed if Trevino knew the victim. Trevino is facing murder charges and will be booked into jail. The National City Police Department detectives are continuing to investigate the incident.
