GOP Official Was Booed for Saying, I Do Not Believe the 2020 Election Was Stolen.

Someone working for the Republican Party was booed when he said he doesn’t think the 2020 presidential race was rigged against former President Donald Trump.

Trump lost Arizona and the election overall, even though he has said wrongly that the election was stolen. Trump tried to get Republican officials in places where he lost to overturn the results in the weeks after the election. Because of these attempts, the former president is being charged with crimes in two places.

Maricopa County Election Recorder Stephen Richer is in charge of elections in Arizona’s most popular county. He has spoken out against Trump’s election lies many times on cable news.

Richer went to a meeting of the Sun City West Republican Club on Saturday and was asked about the 2020 election and how fair the next election in the county would be.

“A lot of people think the 2020 election was rigged,” an event host said, what seemed to be a question from the crowd. “Do you agree with that, and what will you do to make sure that future elections are safe, secure, and accurately reflect the votes of people who are legally registered to vote?”

He replied, “I don’t think the 2020 election was stolen.”

A video shared on social media by Merissa Hamilton shows that the people there, who were mostly older White people, booed loudly.

In 2020, President Joe Biden won Arizona by a little more than 10,000 votes. After a few weeks, when Republican Governor Doug Ducey confirmed the results in his state, Trump criticized him.

“Why is he in such a hurry to install a Democrat when so many horrible facts about voter fraud are being revealed at the hearing right now?,” he tweeted at the time. Republicans will remember for a long time!”
