Former Cincinnati Daycare Worker Pleads Guilty to Child Abuse, Court Records Reveal

CINCINNATI – A daycare worker who had formerly worked for the Cincinnati Recreation Commission entered a guilty plea on Monday to one count of the misdemeanor assault allegation.

According to the records of the Hamilton County Court, Yanna Harris, who is 28 years old, was given a sentence of three years of probation and 180 days in jail, with one day being credited.

The earlier news that FOX19 NOW has provided indicates that Harris physically assaulted a youngster who was diagnosed with Down syndrome while he was attending the daycare at Sayler Park Recreation Center during the winter break of the previous year, exactly before Christmas.

According to the papers made available by the court, Harris was first detained on a misdemeanor count of endangering minors and was then freed from jail on her recognizance.

In January, a grand jury decided to indict Harris on the allegation of endangering minors.

On Monday, August 17, a jury trial was scheduled to begin; however, Harris instead accepted a plea deal, which reduced the allegation against her to that of assault.
