OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA —
In honor of National Dairy Month, Hiland Dairy sends about 4,000 gallons of milk to Feeding America Food Banks.
One or two boxes of Hiland lactose-free milk were sent to 15 Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas food banks.
“We are proud to give thousands of families in need the food they need,” said Rick Beaman, President of Hiland Dairy. “Our dairy farmers and team members are committed to positively impacting our communities, and National Dairy Month is the perfect occasion to emphasize this commitment.”
The deliveries on June 26 were a total of 4,104 gallons, which is equal to 65,664 eight-ounce serves.
Bryan Barks, President and CEO of Food Bank for the Heartland, said, “Hiland Dairy’s kind donation of 54 cases of milk comes at a critical time, as one in five children in the Heartland is now facing hunger.” We see an even bigger need for healthy foods like these now that kids are home for the summer. Hiland Dairy has been a great partner in the fight against hunger, and we’re thankful for that.
