Miami Gardens, FL – A Florida woman allegedly shot another female in the buttocks and back area after the victim came to her home looking for her boyfriend, authorities say. The incident reportedly occurred early Saturday morning in Miami Gardens and has left police investigating an attempted murder case.

Incident Details

According to police, 25-year-old Jahniya Meda fired a pistol at the victim while she approached the home on the 3000 block of Northwest 184th Street.

“As she began walking from the front door westbound toward a side gate, Meda opened the front door, stepped outside onto the porch, and fired two shots in her direction while stating, ‘Get from my house!’”

The incident was allegedly captured on a Ring camera, showing the victim’s boyfriend fleeing the area in a Mercedes-Benz immediately after the shooting.

Victim and Boyfriend Account

Police say the victim went to Meda’s home knowing her boyfriend was inside, knocking on the door and asking him to come out. The boyfriend reportedly told authorities he did not answer the door because it was not his residence. Shortly afterward, he heard gunshots, according to the arrest affidavit.

Suspect’s Statement

Meda, taken into custody by detectives, allegedly stated that the victim showed up around 9:50 a.m., banging on her door and threatening her.

“Meda advised she recognized the female from a prior incident involving the same boyfriend,” the affidavit alleges.

Meda has been charged with attempted murder. She was being held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center as of Monday. The victim was located at a nearby park and transported to a local hospital for treatment.
