A man from Florida who is 43 years old and has been condemned to prison for making a threat to kill Chief Justice John Roberts of the United States Supreme Court has been sentenced.
United States District Judge Marcia Morales Howard has handed down a sentence of fourteen months in federal prison to Neal Brij Sidhwaney, who resides in Fernandina Beach. Sidhwaney was found guilty of communicating an interstate threat to kill.
According to the materials filed in the court, Sidhwaney made a phone call from Florida to the Supreme Court of the United States in Washington, District of Columbia, on July 31, 2023, and left a voicemail message that was filled with profanities and threats.
Throughout the phone message, Sidhwaney referred to himself by name and made multiple threats to kill a certain justice on the United States Supreme Court:
With help from the United States Capitol Police – Threat Assessment Section, the Supreme Court of the United States Police – Protective Intelligence Unit conducted an investigation into this particular issue. Assisting United States Attorney Kirwinn Mike and Special Assistant United States Attorney Joe Wheeler, III were the individuals responsible for the prosecution of this case. On December 15, 2023, Sidhwaney pleaded guilty to the charges against him.
