On Monday evening, there was a collision on westbound Interstate 80 in the vicinity of USA Parkway that resulted in the deaths of two individuals.
At approximately 6:50 p.m., the collision took place, as stated in a press statement issued by the Nevada State Police, which provides an overview of the preliminary information that is now available.
There were two automobiles involved in the accident: a sedan and a commercial vehicle. The press statement states that both vehicles were traveling westbound on Interstate 80 at the time of the collision between the sedan and the commercial vehicle.
At the scene of the accident, the driver and one of the passengers in the car were pronounced dead, while another passenger in the sedan was sent to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening.
The person who was driving the commercial vehicle remained at the site and is providing useful information to the authorities.
According to the announcement, traffic is being rerouted to USA Parkway in the northbound direction since westbound Interstate 80 is currently stopped at USA Parkway.
The USA Parkway is closed from southbound to westbound on Interstate 80.
In accordance with the Nevada State Police, the closures are anticipated to continue for a minimum of several hours before being lifted.
