The Orlando Police Department says an 83-year-old man has not been seen or heard from in a week. His flight home was canceled because of problems related to the CrowdStrike outage.
It was July 21, and Patrick A. Bailey checked in for his trip out of Orlando International Airport in Florida. Police said the trip had to be canceled “because of effects from the CrowdStrike outage that are still being felt.”
The cops said on X that Bailey stayed the night at a nearby hotel and checked out the next morning. “But he didn’t take a plane home.”
Police say he hasn’t been seen or heard from since he left the hotel.
NBC station WESH reported that Bailey’s son, Patrick Bailey Jr., says his father was supposed to fly home to California on July 21 after visiting his sister in Florida, but his flight was canceled. Patrick said that his dad left his cell phone at the hotel and couldn’t be reached since.
Bailey Jr. told the news source, “He might have been able to take a different airline.” “But he hasn’t come home yet.” His house has been checked out by others.
People who have seen Bailey or know where he is are being asked to call the Orlando Police Department.
