According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), 27 illegal immigrants were caught in a horse trailer during a regular traffic stop in Texas on Friday.
A video shared on X shows a DPS trooper stopping a Ford-250 pulling a horse trailer on Friday on US-281 in Hidalgo County.
The driver was named by the police as Jose Guadalupe Salinas from Palmview, Texas.
The police officer asked Salinas what was in the trailer, and he said that there were two horses inside.
The cop then asked if they could search the trailer.
Salinas told the officer, “Be careful, they are angry,” and then he opened the side hatch for the officer on his own.
Troopers found 27 people squished together in a storage area of the trailer. The people were “distressed and sweating profusely.”
It is seen and heard that the trooper asks the newcomers if they need water.
Officials said that three women were badly dehydrated and needed medical help because it was so hot and there was no air flow.
The people from Mexico were sent to the U.S. Border Patrol by the troopers.
The USBP arrested Salinas and will file federal charges against him for moving people.
