Jones, who was selected by New England in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, played for the Patriots before being cut loose and claimed off waivers by Las Vegas in 2023.

For Las Vegas, Jones participated in 24 games, starting 19 of them, intercepted five passes, and returned three for touchdowns. Additionally, he frequently found himself out of position, which gave the opposition’s receivers the opportunity to make huge plays.

Since joining the NFL in 2022, his four defensive touchdowns are second in the league.

He was cut by the Raiders earlier this year.

After losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers the previous month, Miami was looking for a cornerback who could start.

A number of cornerbacks that the Dolphins added this offseason are anticipated to contend for roster slots. Artie Burns, a veteran who suffered an injury on the first day of training camp, went on this week.

The Dolphins waived cornerback Ryan Cooper Jr. on Saturday as well.
