Death Penalty Urged for Two Men Accused of Sexually Assaulting Young Girl: Florida Attorney General

Florida– A little more than a day after two men were arrested in Palm Beach County on charges of sexually abusing children, Florida’s attorney general said what he thought should happen to them.

Police in West Palm Beach arrested Josue D. Mendez-Sales, 26, and Pablo N. Cobon-Mendez, 23, on Thursday for sexual battery on a person younger than 12 years old five times.

Documents filed with the court say that Sales and Mendez abused a 7-year-old girl sexually for weeks.

On Friday, Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier said the following about the case on the social media site X:

“These claims are beyond horrible.” People who can do such horrible things should be punished to the fullest extent of the law.
These news stories make me think that the State Attorney for the 15th Judicial Circuit will ask for the death penalty.

Palm Beach County is in the 15th judicial circuit.

The people being held in the Palm Beach County Jail without bond are not born in the United States. They are Sales and Mendez.
