For their fourth consecutive victory, the Cubs went deep a franchise-record eight times, Busch hit three longballs, while Pete Crow-Armstrong connected twice.
“It was just an enjoyable game to play,” Busch remarked. I will always remember the July Fourth celebration that is baseball, especially when it was played at Wrigley Field and there was so much enthusiasm.

It’s quite amazing to be able to fulfill your childhood dream of playing in the major leagues and then have your name inscribed in the Chicago Cubs’ record books.

After a mostly unnoticed trade from the Dodgers in January 2024, the 27-year-old Busch has developed into a dependable everyday first baseman for the Cubs. He brought right-hander Yency Almonte to Chicago in a trade that sent Zyhir Hope and Jackson Ferris to Los Angeles.
Busch batted.248 with 21 home runs and 65 RBIs in 152 games for the Cubs last season. His average has increased to.288 this season, with 17 home runs and 55 RBIs in 82 games.
According to manager Craig Counsell, he has developed into a truly outstanding offensive player. It seemed like there were some ups and downs during the season last year. Additionally, he has shortened the downs and lengthened the ups this year, you know.
Dansby Swanson hit a two-run homer for Chicago, while Crow-Armstrong also went four for four. The NL Central leaders launched six home runs in the first three innings off Miles Mikolas (4-6), setting a record for the most home runs off a Cardinals pitcher in a single game, with additional solo bombs from Seiya Suzuki and Carson Kelly.
“We just did an extremely good job at being aggressive in the zone and it was just kind of our day,” Busch stated. We don’t really miss in the zone, and I believe it makes us a very formidable ballteam.
