Connecticut Son Allegedly Executes Parents After Argument Over Contributions, Arrested During Subsequent Burglary

WATERBURY, CT – A 25-year-old man, Javian Adams, has been charged with the execution-style killings of his parents following an argument over his lack of financial contributions to the family, according to Connecticut authorities. Adams now faces multiple serious charges, including murder with special circumstances, felony murder, and criminal use of a weapon, as well as burglary and larceny for a break-in the following day.

Argument Escalates to Fatal Violence

According to court records, the deadly incident stemmed from an argument in which Adams’ mother, Carlene Williams, 51, reportedly screamed at her son:
“You don’t pay rent, you don’t pay a bill, you don’t even buy food.”

Surveillance footage reviewed, the Connecticut NBC affiliate, captured the confrontation. Adams allegedly responded chillingly:
“I don’t care no more. F— what y’all say.”

Authorities said the son shot his mother twice and his father, 55-year-old Marc Adams, once in the back of the head inside their home in Waterbury on Monday night. Reports indicate that Adams’ father did not reside full-time at the home, but the suspect had a history of quarrels and alleged theft from his mother.

Criminal History and Escalating Behavior

Adams has a documented past of domestic violence. In December 2024, he faced charges of assault, strangulation or suffocation, and risk of injury to a child. Prosecutors believe a verbal dispute may have contributed to his mental state prior to the fatal attacks, showing an escalation in violent behavior.

Subsequent Burglary and Arrest

The morning after the murders, Adams reportedly broke into a separate residence. A resident recalled:
“I woke up, went out, shined my flashlight into my garage, and he was waving back at me. I told him ‘leave’ a bunch of times. He just kept saying, ‘I’m hungry.’ He was super calm, super like passive.”

Adams then allegedly stole his mother’s white Ford Escape. Police responded to the area of Lake Winnemaug Road and Sperry Road in Watertown, about 15 minutes from Waterbury, after receiving a report of a burglary. Authorities arrested Adams at the scene and recovered items including a backpack, sneakers, and the vehicle.

Legal Proceedings and Potential Penalties

Javian Adams is scheduled to be arraigned in court on October 22 and is currently being held on a $6 million bond. In Connecticut, a murder with special circumstances charge carries the harshest penalty, including life imprisonment without the possibility of release.

Authorities continue to investigate the full circumstances surrounding the murders, while emphasizing the severity of the case and its implications for community safety.
