The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), working with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas Task Force and the Algood Police Department, executed a search warrant at a home on the 700 block of Cardinal Street at 8:40 a.m..
During the search, deputies found:
- Cocaine
- 126 grams of marijuana
- Two firearms: a 12-gauge shotgun and a 9mm pistol with additional ammunition
- Drug paraphernalia
- $3,869 in cash
Arrest of Kevin Otey
PCSO also spotted Kevin Otey, the resident of the home, driving down Cardinal Street during the operation and pulled him over. Otey, a confirmed member of the “Traveling Vice Lords” gang, was taken into custody.
Otey is a felon with multiple prior convictions. He faces multiple charges, including:
- Two counts of manufacture, delivery, and sale of a controlled substance
- Two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon
He was booked into the Putnam County Jail with a bond set at $850,000.
